Hey! So less than (or about a) week after the shocking find of the Wave Three Vehicles at the Wal-Mart closest to me, tonight I found the Wave Six Comic packs! Well, honestly I only found the Beachhead/Mainframe pack, but that means the other two (SE and his Master & Scrap-Iron and Wild Bill) had to have been there, and last night I didn't check on the JOES, so I guess I missed them. I WANT THAT SCRAP-IRON! BAD BAD!
But, on to the pack I DID get. The comic was OK, nice to see Cobra's eye candy (Zarana and the Baroness) as the only COBRA characters, besides the B.A.T.s, which looked like the 2003 Internet Exclusive B.A.T.! The Mainframe (THAT'S HIS REAL NAME! Darn copyright!) figure is cool, looks like a grumpy S.O.B. tho! His computer is updated with cool little fold out legs, and he comes with that odd little phone thingy, but no where to store it that I can find! His machine gun is a gray version of Dial-Tone's with the tip painted black. Overall a pretty cool release of rehashed parts.... Now, about Beachhead. When I was walking up to the check out I was thinking of selling him - till I got him home! This version is AWESOME! The accessories are killer - He has his ORIGINAL VEST and there's a cool satchel with a removable clip that you can swap with the REMOVABLE CLIP IN HIS RIFLE! SWEET! I don't get the head swap, but I like that you can finally have a JOE revealed who's always been masked...it's odd that he looks...like that. But it's a pretty bitchin' figure and IMHO better than the first release, which was a little too "realistic" for me...Now, if anyone has a SCRAP-IRON they wanna part with... Uhm, I think this is Comic pack Wave 6 you're talking about. Congrats on the find btw! So, more products are hitting us in October. Somebody bail me out!

Oh man - I tried to change the title to reflect the CORRECT Wave number, but I can't...Oh well...

What is the comics Scrapy supposed to look like.. original colors? I don't think I ever saw a comic Scrap Iron pic.. only the 7 pack version.

Thanks man.. yup, he looks good. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out in single pack form WITH the correct pistol. The funskool Scrap Irons had the right pistol & even if it got lost, it would be a pretty easy tool to make. Hasbro has been good at doing that.. give you just enough to like a figure, but then give you a bit more (or make the figure just a bit better) in later releases, which get most people to buy the figure again. It's sneaky.. but a good sales strategy when dealing with a collector base (not unlike the use of chase figs, etc). i.e. Isn't the single carded Tripwire supposed to come out with the (more) correct smooth chest pad? I am also going to guess that the carded Falcon will not only have better painted boots, but will also have a new brown sheathed knife on his suspenders (like the original).
Just examples. My guess is Scrapy will be fixed in some way too. Yeah, I was just mentioning the other day how Owensboro is getting so much early-Joe love down there. Is it a test market or is there a Wally distribution center nearby? Either way, good for you man! I love it when the stuff hits the midwest first instead of the west coast.

Heck yeah! I mean I'm telling you I read about the Wave Three Vehicles, and I find them the same night? What the heck! And then a week or so later, I find that Wave 6 Comic Pack? Now that I'm typing this I kinda wish I had gone last night...I don't know why I'm getting this lucky, but I am, and that's all I know! I also found not one, but TWO Rattlers on Thursday! Sweet, huh?
EDIT - Here's the receipt from the other night - sorry I can't find my USB cable to get pix of the guys...My airheaded friend Kimberly lost it, and THAT was the extra one I bought because she lost hers! Geez...thought it was BLONDES not REDHEADS that were supposed to be spacey... http://

Still no Wave 6 in NC, but I went ahead and pre-ordered them from BBTS. I'm not too excited about Wild Bill, Snake Eyes or the Hard Master, but the other three figures look great!
