I was going through my toy room which is turning into a freaking vault as of later and realized just how much Sigma 6 stuff I had. I got into this during the lull towards the beginng of the 25th Anniversary stuff. Some of this stuff is pretty neat. But I can't believe how much of it I ended up with.

And it's big too. Yep. I have a big soft spot for it because of how playable it is. And it's gone forever from retail. I still hope, in vain, that one day the G.I. Joe Collector Club will give us a membership exclusive Sigma 6 8 inch Scarlett.

I unloaded all of my S6 stuff to my son. (except the dragon hawk, which I converted for the 33/4" line.) He plays with them every now & then but has no real intrest in them. I really wish that the S6 line had included a 33/4" line of figures.

I like the 8 inch line a lot. I never thought I would either, but in retrospect I am glad it happened. They are a satisfying chunk of plastic and packed with lots of real action figure features. In the end, I wound up buying a lot of the big guys for myself and my son, while he ended up with the whole shebang of the little guys. The little 2.5 vehicles were nice and easy enough to turn to 3.75, but those 2.5 figures don't work as well with them sadly. If you were into machines and vehicles, the 2.5ers were great, but if you were into action figures the 8 inchers were where it was at. I think Hasbro learned a lot about making better action figures from sizing up to 8 inches there, and I would not erase that from history in the slightest. Without that changed approach I highly doubt we'd have seen the vastly improved 3.75 figures out of Hasbro that are now the new standard buck from Marvel, Spiderman, Iron Man, G.I. Joe and others. In most cases you have to innovate and come up with something better to remain on top, and that is where Sigma 6 toys put Hasbro. Looking back at S6, Hasbro failed in only one or two regards with the line; they did not develop a matching quality video game with sequels. If they had done that then they'd have really hit on something more lasting.
